HOPING IT'S ONLY TEMPORARY

It rather looks as if will have to leave the computer alone for a while so I thought I should warn my friends in advance.

I have a medical problem, although I don't know yet what it is. All I can say is that I have terrible pains which so far haven't been identified. The doctor thought two things, (1) that I have an infection and (2) I could have a gallbladder problem. He thought the kidneys were okay. Whatever it is, it hurts and sitting at the computer hurts even more.

The pain wasn't too bad when the doc was here but after he went I was almost screaming the place down. At ease-off time I rang the surgery to let them know about it. Friends have said that if the pain comes again (it lasts for almost an hour) I'm to press my panic button which will have the medics come running.

Of course, being poorly raises all sorts of problems, the major one being - what happens to Charlie if I need to go in hospital. So I consulted my new neighbours who have said they will look after him, feed him, and see that he is okay on his own in the house. Fortunately there is a way he can get out to the garden and get back in again. What a relief.

So, where do I go from here? Goodness only knows. I hope to be able to visit you all but may not feel up to commenting. The ipad will play it's part in allowing me to read/write email and reply to comments but writing a blog is too arduous on that small keyboard, and sitting at the big PC is even worse.

I repeat the heading to this post ... Hoping it is only temporary. One never knows but I will miss my regular blogging activities. I hope you won't miss my blogs too much. God bless you all and take care of yourselves.

  1. Found your blog through "One of Life's Little Surprises" and when I saw Charlie, I knew I needed to follow you. My previous next-door neighbor had a cat just like Charlie and we shared him. He came over for visits at night and I just loved him. Sadly she's moved and she took Carl with her (naturally). Our lifestyle isn't conducive to having a pet of any sort right now, so I enjoy other people's pets from afar.

  2. Don't worry about us. I hope they can figure out what the problem is quickly.
I know it's a worry when we have pets. WE seem to worry more about them than we do ourselves.
I have back problems and I know it's from sitting here, leaning over my computer. I try to stay off it ...
    Take care of you!

  3. Oh dear, Valerie, I was sorry to read this post and hear about your pains. I know we (your blog buddies) will be hoping that there is a "fix" that is not too involved. And that you will be back sooner than later. Being in pain is definitely not fun so hope that you will get a diagnosis and then recovery. You will be in my thoughts, friend.

  6. I've had kidney stones, needed blasting the last time. The pain in my lower left side OMG, how women have babies is astounding to me...anyway it was not too serious except for the pain thing, hope they find out your issue and resolve it quickly.

  9. As someone else mentioned, unexplained pain is not good. Forr your body but more importantly for your mind.
Here's hoping the source is found soon and you're back to normal quick as a wink
    Take care

  10. Valerie, having to go through bad pain is horrible enough, but not understanding makes is all the more difficult to cope with.

Please know that my thoughts, prayers and "good" energy are with you. And please don't worry about us, just take the time you need to get well. We will be here whenever you return.

    Love ya, dear friend.....
