SOAP

Do you throw away the last of tablet soap? I have friends younger than me who wouldn’t dream of continuing to lather a small piece. I suppose I was brought up in an age when every bit saved meant more money in the purse. It doesn’t apply to me anymore but I do still continue to abide by the old saying ‘waste not, want not’. Old habits die hard.

I have great fun with tablet soap. When it starts to get a bit thin I get a new bar and promptly ‘stick’ the old to the new. It looks funny if one bar is coloured and the new one plain white or vice versa. After that, whenever I use the soap I can see the wearing thin process of the older soap.

I can hear you all saying ‘play nice’!

Valerie, that's a FABULOUS idea, and one that I will most definitely try the next time my bath soap starts to get small. Like you, I hate wasting anything, so what I usually do is save the small piece and use it has hand soap until it's all gone.

Thanks so much for sharing this today, my friend! And have a lovely Sunday!

    1. Hi Ron. Don't be defeated if at first the old soap won't stick to the new... it will, after a couple of goes. The family used to laugh at my efforts until they realised why I did it.

Whenever I do stick the two together I am reminded of my father who would look at my effort and say 'play nice!.

Well it's the start of another week - I hope you have a good one x

  3. Me tooooo, I just hate to throw away, those little bits of soap!!!!!!!!!

I have tried the "stick it on" way, but it does not seem to work for me. :-( Yours looks like a perfect a fit. Wonder why it doesn't work for me????

Our soaps seem to be rectangles. Yours looks more egg shape.

Wish I knew how you do it!!!!!!!!!!!!

    1. It will stick, eventually. Wet the two tablets first, then try again, and press the two together - HARD.

  4. Yes, Valerie, I do the same with a the soap bars. Mainly I use handmade soaps purchased at thrift stores or as leftover pieces, which are deemed "not good" enough to sell by a soap vendor, but work perfectly well. Yes, I could afford to start a new soap bar, but why?

    1. Exactly my view. Anyway, it's more fun doing it our way, especially if the colours clash!

  5. Hi Dan. Your friend has the right idea, as do you.

  6. I do that too. It helps if you get both bars wet and make a nice glue. You can tell I've been doing this awhile :)
