NOVEL IDEA

I was about to donate this plastic bag to the recycling people when the printed message caught my eye.
If any blogger wonders what to do with their plastic carriers here are a few suggestions.

REUSE THIS BAG AS A BIN LINER
HALF A PAIR OF DISPOSABLE WELLIES
A SWIMMING KIT BAG
A PORTABLE LAUNDRY BASKET
A DISPOSABLE GLOVE (LEFT OR RIGHT-HANDED)
A GARDENING MAT
A PAINT TRAY LINE
A MUDDY BOOT CARRIER
SOMETHING TO TAKE YOUR PACKED LUNCH TO WORK IN
A PAINT BRUSH PROTECTOR,
A TEMPORARY FILING CABINET
OR YOU COULD JUST USE IT FOR SHOPPING AGAIN

Novel ideas!

  1. Brilliant ~ and I am sure there are dozens of other uses for the infamous plastic bag. I hate them ~ it's like they breed in my place. But gee they are awfully useful too. There are towns in Australia which have stopped using them.

  2. I have reused plastic bags as trash can liners, to take my lunch to work, carry things I need while I am doing my running, and reused them to get groceries at Aldi. They are very useful some times but I have some many. LOL

  3. No kidding. And my wife saves them by the ton. Maybe now I can suggest to her she might use them for something...:)

  6. Valerie, that is THE most awesome list of recycling suggestions on a plastic bag I have EVER seen!

I recycle my plastic bags by reusing them as trash bags, shopping bags, or to tote things to and from work.

    Thoroughly enjoyable post, dear lady!

    X to you and Joe!

  8. Carol, we should have a competition to see how many ideas bloggers come up with for the reuse of plastic bags.

  9. Cuban, the idea of putting the suggestions on the bag was entirely that of the company .. a gimmick that might well educate the public to reuse the bag, especially now they have to be paid for by the customer.

  10. Ron, we reuse ours but mostly I use my own fold-up shoppers which take up no room in my bag and which open out to a full size shopping bag.

  11. Brian, snap! we reuse ours before recycling them. Of course, they weren't around when our kids were small.

  12. TB, we have a special container for storing the bags... it is ALWAYS full.

  13. I find it hard to throw away carriers so I them for several of those things. What a good idea to print it on the bag.

  14. We use plastic bags to clean up dog poop. I think that would make an excellent addition to their already awesome list. Hope all is well with you and Joe. Take care Val.

  15. LOL What a cute thing to put on the bag! I toted my lunch in one, until I was gifted a 'duckie bag' to use instead. I can now be one of the 'cool kids'. LOL Sadly, the plastic bag wasn't cutting it in this environment no matter HOW many times I told them I was being environmentally responsible. :-/
