Quotations for a new year

As we head towards a brand new year these quotations should be useful!

  1. Women are mentally prepared for most things; it’s the arms, hips and knees that call a halt.
  2. We can do no great things – only small things with great love (Mother Teresa).
  3. Why not seize pleasure at once? How often is happiness destroyed by preparation, foolish preparation (Jane Austen).
  4. Imagination is the highest kite one can fly. (Lauren Bacall).
  5. The past is a foreign country: they do things differently there (J P Hartley).
  6. Silence is precious; it gives others a chance to air their own opinions.
  7. Believe half of what you see and nothing that you hear.

  8. Brian, how did I guess you'd like No.4?

Jackie, No.4 seems to be favourite!

    Jinksy, yes indeed!

Subby, 'anon' could be forever. Pleasse don't leave it that long.

Janine, Mother Teresa had quite few appropriate and wise sayings.

Kath, thanks for that one, it's so true. Hadn't heard it before.

    Wizz, don't you dare!

  12. Very wise quotations - No 3 applies to me and I must learn from this. Yes, I spend so much time preparing as I am an organised freak, luckily not to the level of perfectionist. As they say, just enjoy the moment...
