It's flower time!

Two things I like at this time of year

Bluebells
Straight from the garden, no need to go to the woods to pick bluebells. The perfume is fabulous; once the bluebells get in a warm room their scent simply magnifies.

Camellia
This year the camellia had more flowers and
there's still plenty of buds waiting to open.

I love springtime!

  4. Valerie, those bluebells are stunning and I can smell them from here - HA! I've never seen those flowers before, but they remind me a bit of a hyacinth.

    Love the roses too!

    Have a lovely Tuesday!

    X to you and Joe!

  5. Those are so beautiful! We still had only 36 degrees this morning. Spring is having a really hard time making an appearance this year!

  6. Ranita, I wish I could send you some of our flowers.

Brian, yes I like the smell of honeysuckle.

Denise, I'd love to be able to bottle the scent and use it after the flowers fade.

Ron, since posting this I have collected more bluebells and installed them around the house. The smell .... Oooh the smell is wonderful.

Mona, sorry to hear your spring is so late. It's a bit like our so-called summer last year ... it didn't ever seem to arrive.

  8. The bluebells are stunning. And...yes...Spring is wonderful and long overdue in these parts. Winter has been brutally cold this year with minus degree temperatures. Currently it's 49 degrees with a cold driving rain. Aside from all that, there are some buds popping out of the ground. Thanks for the lovely pictures.

  10. Springtime is great, but there's something about falling asleep while rain hits the roof above my head that I really love. Maybe I'm more of a winter kinda guy...

  11. Herman, if I had a choice I'd always opt for spring... and then maybe autumn. Never winter though.

  12. BC, I envy you the tulips... I lost all mine a couple of years back and never replaced them.

  14. Hello Pam. Nice to see you and thanks for your comment. I have read about your severe winters. For once ours was not too bad. I think others had our share. We had lots of floods but not where I live... fortunately.

  15. Bluebells have such a special smell don't they. Your post suddenly brought it to mind. It made me think that they are so early this year and for various reasons I have not managed to get out into the woods to see them in real life. I hope I manage to do it before they fade! Th
