VACATION WITH A DIFFERENCE!

Two sky shots taken from ...wait for it ... the Ayers Rock and Uluru region in Australia. According to Wikipedia Ayers Rock is a large sandstone rock formation in the southern part of the Northern Territory in Central Australia, south west of Alice Springs.

Kata Tjuta and Uluru are the two major features of the Uluru-Kata National Park. Ulutu is sacred to the Anangu, the Aboriginal people of the area. The area around the formation is home to a plethora of springs, waterholes, rock caves, and ancient paintings. Uluru is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Not only was our Daughter recently recognised as an official Australian Citizen, she and her husband got to see this wonderful part of her new homeland.

Here are few more shots of the area

Finally ... The Hat Tree!

  1. Congratulations on your daughter becoming an official Australian citizen, Valerie!

What glorious photographs! Especially love the ones of the sunset and the HAT tree!

I've never been to Australia myself, however, anyone I've ever talked to who has, said what a beautiful place it is. And looking at these images, I can see why :)

Thanks for sharing, dear lady. Enjoyed!

    X to you and Joe!

  3. I second the congratulations!

The photos were spectacular! Sedona in N. Arizona shares some of that beauty in its red-stones and water carved gullies. Lovely.

  5. Those shots are breath-taking! :-) Love them. Thanks for your comment in my latest post. I really appreciate it. Like you, I try not to, but, if I'm being honest, I guess that at an unconscious level I still have to learn not to judge by appearances. Especially when I have been the recipient of such bias in the past. :-) It's part of the beauty of life, you never stop learning things about yourself.

    Greetings from London.

  7. Thanks, Cuban. Glad you enjoyed the pictures. More on the way pretty soon.

Re your comment about my comment... it is only natural to judge by appearances so long as it doesn't eat into our souls to the point of hatred.
