A smile, a moan, and a groan
I see Captcha has infiltrated a few blogs without being asked. I have my preferences set to NOT having it but it seems to have been ignored. The MOST annoying thing, though, is having to prove I'm not a robot on my own blog. Actually I couldn't see the point in typing a few numbers until I did a search and discovered that we need to prove we're not computerised people! I checked in the mirror and found I am definitely a person. Still, you only have my word for that!
Notification of comments on the blog is very haphazard lately, sometimes I get them, sometimes I don't. It's all very frustrating. Whatever happened to CHOICE or at the very least CONSULTATION?
Still, as it's getting very near Christmas, I'll stop moaning.
I went to a Christmas lunch today and managed to pinch a few cracker jokes. They're not as groan-worthy as some ... see for yourself.
Q. What did the mayonnaise say to the fridge?
A. Please close the door, I'm dressing!
Q. What is grey and has four legs and a trunk?
A. A mouse going on holiday!
Q. What did the hat say to the scarf?
A. You hang around while I go on ahead.
Okay, groan all you like - I can't hear you!
I like the dog-coffee meme. I will have to send it to my sister :D

Valerie, these are VERY funny! I especially loved the one about the hat and scarf! HAHAHAHAHAHA!
ReplyDeleteAnd speaking of CAPTCHA, yes, I noticed it appearing on several of the Blogger blogs I read. But at least it's using numbers instead of letters because the letters are almost impossible to read.
Have a great Thursday, dear lady!
X to you and Joe
I know that another blogger told me my comments were not coming thru to her e-mail and I thought it was me as I was getting e-mail errors. I guess it might not be me. I wondered at your captcha? Love the jokes.
ReplyDeleteyes, mommy was kissing no one...ha.
ReplyDeletethe CAPTCHA thing...it is going to be on all blogs regardless your preference...if your preference is set to no captcha though, they can just hit submit and it ignored the captcha...
Brian, I'll look out for the 'submit' button. I do so dislike Captchas. It's frustrating having to use it on my own comment box.
ReplyDeleteRon, I agree that numbers are better than the other variety of unreadable letters, but I think blog owners should be excused from using it on their personal blogs. It's driving me nuts and I can see that in future I will have to respond to all on one comment form.

ReplyDeleteThis revival without my permission of word verification on my blog is really really annoying....:(
ReplyDeleteHahaha....I a.m. the dog. LOL! I am such a coffee freak!! Thank you the smile after a busy work day. And thank you for bringing up the captcha stuff. I was thinking it was just ME. And thanks to Brian for letting me know how to go around it.
ReplyDeleteLovely and the poem is a hoot. Have you tried setting your comment to embedded? I was told to do that and it worked for me, though I it might not work for everyone. Frustrating!
ReplyDeleteHi Denise, and thanks - I'll look into your suggestions. Anything is worth a go!
ReplyDeleteNo groans from me. Just smiles. Thanks Val. Take care.
