THIS, THAT, AND THE OTHER....

1.  Was awakened by my crying cat who was stuck in a room. He had tried so hard to open the door he lifted the carpet which only made matters worse. Had to send for the neighbours who hurried round and cut a square out of the carpet. It did the job, but I now have to replace the carpet. Poor Charlie, no wonder he looked scared.

2.  I always close all doors, so I am wondering why I forgot last night.

3. Carpet fitter booked. Seemed like I had to wait a whole year.

4. Gee, I didn’t realise I had so much stuff in the welsh dresser, jigsaw puzzles galore, not to mention everything to do with my writing which took over all the shelves. Looks like a bonfire is due!

5. Jigsaws gone to charity. Can no longer bend over to do the damn things.

6. Shifting furniture in my bungalow is a nightmare. I knew we should have bought a bigger house!

7. Hairdresser comes to the house now. Never heard such a chatterbox, she quite wears me out!

8. Still hauling stuff out of the room, hoping carpet fitters will help with heavier stuff.

9. Room looks nice with its new carpet, but I am besieged with worry about where everything is. I can’t seem to find anything.

10. Most common thing to lose is my walking stick. Heehee, bet you didn’t know I used one! You should hear me ranting when the stick goes missing!

  1. That ordeal must have been a nightmare for poor Charlie, and having to get a new carpet was certainly a nightmare for you. Hopefully you'll be able to get the room back in order soon.

Sorry to hear about the chatterbox hairdresser. I can't tolerate over-talkative people. Perhaps you could offer her some thick, chewy taffy candy - which should keep her busy mouth silent for awhile (*smile*).

You should get an extra walking stick, in case you misplace the first one.

    1. I have three walking sticks, one favourite wooden one and two fancy ones that I am almost ashamed to use. That's a good idea for shutting the hairdresser up. She really does get on my nerves so I need to do something.

  2. Oh poor Charlie, I hope he's okay now. Something similar happen to my cat when I accidentally closed the closet door in my bedroom and locked him in there ALL DAY while I was as work. When I got home that day, I could hear him crying in the closet. OMG, I felt horrible.

Your mention of jigsaw's reminded me of my childhood because I loved putting them together; especially the big ones because they were such a challenge.

Yes, I bet, because you get used to walking with one so when it's not there, you panic.

Thanks for catch-up, my friend. Hope you're having a great week.

    X to you and Charlie

    1. Hi Ron, upsetting the cat is awful. Every night now I walk the premises, checking doors. Well, I can't imprison the cat a second time.
I have three walking sticks, but only one is favourite.

Oh it's sooo good to be back.

  3. My SIL is a hairdresser, love her to death, but she does love to talk...goes with the occupation apparently. I used to get my hair cut by a nice Italian lady with a very strong accent. We would have nice conversations where I had almost no idea what she was saying. I simply nodded my head a lot.

    1. I had forgotten that hairdressers chat a lot. It is so long since I went to a hairdressing salon that my memory of it had completely left me. The one who comes to me doesn't seem to pause for breath!!

  4. I am always losing my reading glasses. Sometimes I find them on top of my head. Your hairdresser sounds a character.

    1. It is reassuring to know I'm not alone. Maybe I should try keeping them on my head instead of the first handy place!

  5. Emptying a room to have a carpet fitted is a nightmare. Sorry to hear you can no longer do jigsaws, that would upset me.

I talk too much. I always feel I have to end the silence!

    1. I thought of you when disposing of the jigsaws, knowing how much you enjoy doing them. Never mind, they will give some others the pleasure of doing them.

  6. Sounds as if you are fit hauling stuff out of the room. You'll become acclimatised soon! But poor Charlie. I am sure you will be careful in the future.

  7. Not fit, Jenny. I managed by pushing and shoving simple pieces rather than picking stuff up. It took ages and my back has been even worse ever since. I left the heavy stuff to the carpet fitters.

  8. Poor Charlie. I am glad all is well and the new carpet looks good. I also hope that you found your missing stuff.

    1. Matt, I have just spent 30 minutes looking for a small ruler, one that I use all the time and now can't find. It is so frustrating. That's just one of many things that have gone missing.

  9. Poor Charlie, so desperate for freedom he crawls under a carpet! My Mom has a hairdresser come in for trims and perms; a real talker also.

  10. kden, I had forgotten that hairdressers wire talkative. I guess for 15 mins I can cope with it, but sometimes I do wish she would shut up.
