Yea, oh Yea, I am husbandless. Guy is stranded in Oz because the ash cloud drifting over the UK from Iceland prevents planes from flying. He was due to start the journey home today but for obvious reasons cannot do so. It’s a good job he’s staying with daughter and not in a hotel, at least his comfort is guaranteed while he awaits news of a flight. That's much better than being stuck in an airport somewhere. The two part journey might possibly have been started but there was a danger then of being stranded in Dubai. I suggested he opted for the comfort of bed and board with the good hospitality our daughter can provide. I really hope he makes the most of the bonus days in Australia.
For one minute, walk outside, stand there, in silence, look up at the sky and contemplate how amazing life is.

i could think of worse places to be stranded...kinda surreal the way the ash cloud has affected every thing...
ReplyDeleteOh No! good job he has family and comfort during this delay. My sons GF was supposed to be flying to Egypt with her family tomorrow, for the holiday of a lifetime and it is her birthday on Tuesday. Poor girl is so dissapointed and her dad will not get his money back either. Who could possibly have seen thins coming?
ReplyDeleteThe world has been forced to slow down a little...
ReplyDeleteBrian, there is a worse place ... it's where I am... grins
ReplyDeleteKath, I thought the travel agents etc were obliged to repay costs. Heard that on TV today. I hope the GF gets her holiday of a lifetime, even if it's a little late.
Jinksy, that is very true.
Hi Valerie:)
ReplyDeleteI am glad your husband decided to stay with your daughter. Several tourists in India are stranded at the airport and no one knows when the planes will be flying again. Obviously, the stranded tourists have to put up with a lot of inconveniences.
Best wishes:)
Joseph
How fortunate that you hubby is staying with family! I felt for the people shown on TV that are stranded abroad and living off their credit cards. Not something you budget for is it? :(
ReplyDeleteOh, Val...I'm glad he's with your daughter, but...so awful that he can't get home...I'm sure he was still looking forward to getting home, and it must be anxious for you wondering when the air travel will begin again! You both will be much in my thoughts and prayers! Love you so much! Janine XO
ReplyDeleteIf he can't be home with you then it sounds like he is in the second best place. Hope he gets home soon and safe travels.
ReplyDeleteGlad that he's stranded with his daughter. I hope he gets to fly home safely soon.
