By way of a change I'm going to show what I found this morning. At first, looking with sleepy eyes through a side door that leads to the garden, I saw what appeared to be a distant airplane in the sky. That is, until I looked again... properly. It was an insect on the door window.
It has been there all day, showing no sign of life let alone shifting.
(please enlarge pictures)
Here it is again, cropped for a better view.
Well that's the rear view, the next one is the front of the insect
The neighbours have been in to see it but neither they nor I have ever seen an insect like it. If anyone has any knowledge, perhaps you'd be kind enough to let me know.
it rather looks like an early da vinci flying machine...
ReplyDeleteHi Valerie:)
ReplyDeleteI am not sure what it is but it looks like a dragon fly.
I am not able to open my old blog. So I have started a new blog-A MAN ON THE MOVE under the url-pulikotilthomasjoseph.blogspot.com
Kindly inform our common friends.
Best wishes:)
Joseph
I am not sure but it looks most like what we called a walking stick.

Brian, so I was right, it did look like a plane.
ReplyDeleteJoseph, I caught up with your on your blog.
Abe, thank you. Is that what they call a stick insect... sounds right. I have never seen one before although I have heard that kids collect them. They can have mine, it's still on the window.
ReplyDeleteNot exactly sure...looks like a WWI bi-plane in shadow tho'...
ReplyDeleteWell it looks like the mystery is solved after reading your comments. Is the bug still hanging out on your window? Have a good one.
ReplyDeleteShifey, the bug is still in situ. I am told by a neighbourhood child that it isn't a stick insect. She appears to be an authority on them. She said it's too small.
ReplyDeleteSubby, great minds think alike. Having a giggle now.
ReplyDeleteEeeew I bet you're glad it's outside and not inside!
ReplyDeleteNow that is an interesting insect. Not that I'm "into" insects :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like the hang-gliders we get up here in the hills!
ReplyDeleteI think Abe is right...That is the first thing I thought of when I saw it! What a strange thing, though! Sitting on your window and not moving all day! Must be a lovely view :-) Love you! Janine XO
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday~!
