Whatever the weather

Today Joe and I went to lunch at the Miller and Carter restaurant in Sutton Park. I have written before about Sutton Park and it's seven wonderful lakes but it is my favourite place so it's understandable that I keep bragging. There are many photographs of this place somewhere on my computer but right now I can't locate them.

It was a nice day to start with but the clouds soon blotted out the sunlight. Although it was quite windy the yachts were out in force. I suppose that's why yachtsmen are labelled as hardy souls. My seating position in the restaurant enabled me to see everything that was going on and what fun (!) to see a couple of yachts capsizing and the methods of righting them in roughish water. There were experts on hand to help with the procedure but they hovered while the yacht people sorted it out for themselves.

Oh it's great fun eating out!

  2. What an amazing place. You should link this up to this weeks Friday My Town Shoot Out group blog. I love lake water, so still and calm, not like the sea water which I'm more used to, even though we also have mountain lakes here.

  9. Mersad, where I live we have plenty of lakes we can visit. We're not far from the city but we're quite rural. We have the best of both worlds, I guess.

  14. This is a place to brag about Valerie, it looks lovely from your photos. And as for the yachtsmen, a very impressive bunch to handle their boats in all kinds of weather.

  15. That water has got to be absolutely freezing! I'm sure it's fun if your boat manages to stay upright though :-)

  16. We've been eating out twice this weekend while my brother and SIL have been visiting us in SB. We had a lovely brunch on the ocean today. You certainly had a beautiful day.

  17. Denise, our Sutton Park is a great place, we're lucky to live so near. I've spent most of my life visiting the park.

Herman, yes I reckon the water was cold... now I know why yachtsmen wear warm clothes plus waterproofs.

BC, brunch on the ocean sounds wonderful. I envy you.
