Songs and Sounds on Saturday

A tribute to
Val Doonican, a popular Irish singer who died this week, aged 88.
Val was well known for his fancy jumpers and his rocking chair as well as his singing.

I hunted for a visual of Val Doonican singing but couldn't find one.
Instead I found this short film which is quite pleasant. The object, though, is to listen to the voice while being entertained by wildlife.

Val was a great singer of serious and light-hearted songs.

  2. Valerie, at first I didn't recognize the name, Val Dooincan, until I watched and listened to the video clip. Then, I suddenly remembered who he was because my mother loved his voice and had several of his records and recalled hearing them in our home.

Beautiful tribute, my friend. What a lovely voice he had.

    Thank you for sharing.

    Have a great weekend!
    X to you and Joe

  4. Ron, Val Doonican was everyone's favourite because of his easygoing nature and singing. He was a true Irishman and I loved listening to his ballads. He had the lazy Irish humour, too, which endeared him to many. He ended his life in a nursing home but died peacefully at a good age.

  5. Lovely voice. Another "discovery" via your blog. Your Saturdays are turning out to be quite didactic! :-)

    Greetings from London.
