Phone calls from ‘unavailable’ are usually from people who
either have nothing better to do or selling something I don’t want. I do NOT
answer calls with no name or number. I’m referring to the land line, I
never got funny callers on the mobile phone, until now, and this was a real
beauty! Read on…
THIS IS HMRC (Her Majesty’s something or other). WE HAVE
FOUND AN ARREST WARRANT IN YOUR NAME. PRESS 1 IMMEDIATELY TO SPEAK TO YOUR CASE
OFFICER.
Well,
I would if I could remember doing something wrong but honestly I plead NOT
GUILTY of ANYTHING. If you don’t hear from me for a few years you’ll know I was
arrested and locked up. I worry about Charlie if I do get locked up for
something I didn’t do.
Seriously, isn't it time phone companies put a stop to these pests?
Haha, that's a classic, but I feel sorry for people who do fall for these phone calls. I never answer the landline it always goes on to answer phone. If it's important they'll say who they are and then I'll pick up.
ReplyDeleteI never answer the landline when I see that it's a rubbish call, but this was on the mobile. After many years, it was the first on there. Someone got my number! Fortunately, I didn't answer it, nor did I press 1 !!!
DeleteI don't answer either, they can leave a message.
ReplyDeleteI did get a message, one that made me laugh at the foolishness of others.
DeleteI don't answer these calls either, there is one going around here supposedly from the Internal Revenue Service wanting you to press 1 to continue, this is almost as bad as your arrest warrant! You didn't happen to get yourself a golf cart and go about terrorizing the neighborhood unlicensed did you? Ha Ha
ReplyDeleteHaha... and I thought no-one noticed, Jimmy!
Deleteand they usually call when I'm occupied eating dinner....grrrr.:(
ReplyDeleteThat's not good enough, TB. Hope the phone is close to the table.
Delete" If you don’t hear from me for a few years you’ll know I was arrested and locked up."
ReplyDeleteHAHAHAHAHAHA! Made me laugh out loud!
We have this new thing on our landline phones, here in the US. If a caller is suspected as spam, it will read on my caller ID "SPAM" and then display the phone number. It's kind of like when you get a spam email and your spam filter puts it into a spam folder.
Like you, whether on my cell phone or landline phone, I do not answer unless I know the number because here in the US, like you, even our cell phones are now getting inundated with spam callers.
Have a super rest of your weekend, my friend!
Good morning, Ron. Well, that was the first on the cell phone... hope it's the last. I wonder how much the phone companies make for allowing these calls to take place. The content of this one made me smile, though and I wonder if anybody WOULD press 1.
DeleteI don't answer phone calls that display no number either. I once new an old lady who told a double glazing cold caller that she lived in a council house and she had no money. This wasn't true and they never rang again.
ReplyDeleteGood idea, Dave. I will try that approach if a situation arises that I even answer the damn phone. Fortunately I have caller ID on the landline, thus avoiding unknowns, Unfortunately, the mobile phone lets everything through.
