MORE THIS AND THAT...

1.   Letters don’t normally come on Sundays, but it took several hours for me to realise it was Saturday.

2.   Charlie the cat has decided that my desk is the best place to take a nap. Perhaps he’s after the mouse!

3.   My window cleaner has a knack of knowing when the weather will stay fine.

4.   Switched grocery supplier. The old one didn’t seem to understand English!

5.   Thank goodness the clock changes are upon us! I much prefer lighter mornings.

6.   I only like cold mornings if I can stay in bed an extra hour.

7.   Charlie didn’t like the fireworks but I enjoyed him snuggling up to me and hiding his ears on a cushion.

8.   Hearing their three-year-old son crying very loud, his parents rushed into the room to see what was wrong. The boy had swallowed a penny and was convinced he was going to die. Nothing his parents could say would convince him otherwise. Finally, the father palmed a penny that was half hidden in a sheet, rubbed his son’s stomach and pretended to pull the penny out of his ear. The little lad started smiling when he saw the penny, though he quickly snatched it out of his father’s hand, swallowed it and said ‘Do it again, Dad!’

9.   Have disposed of pampas plumes, now all I have to do is cut back the knife-edged leaves. Wishing we’d never planted the damn thing.

10  I would have thought Chicken Tikka was too spicy for a cat but Charlie begs for bits of it when I’m eating. Obviously, I don’t give him huge lumps, I mean it’s really for me not him.

  1. Who can resist Chicken Tikka really? So who is your grocery supplier now? I go to Tescos, only because it's the nearest one to me. My partner prefers Waitrose.

    1. I am tossing around, today it's ASDA. Next week I might go back to TESCO. There are quite few who take orders on line and delivery. I thought I would test the market, Waitrose is next on list although they are more expensive than most.

    1. You are right. I think the idea came about when the brain refused to work.

  3. A fun read Valerie. I haven't tried Chicken Tikka before, I will have to look for it.

    1. I think you would like it, Denise. I'm not one for spicy food but I like this one.

  4. Charlie is awesome. Even though Ms. Frizzle doesn't seem to like cats, I think she would enjoy Charlie's company.

    1. Sadly, Charlie isn't a sociable cat. I suspect something happened to scare the fur off him before I got him. Maybe he would get on better with Ms.Frizzle.

HA! LOVED that! And isn't it funny how cats will change places every so often? My cats used to do that too. They would pick a spot to sleep and then a month or so later, pick a different spot.

    OMG, that is so cute!

And speaking of turning the clocks forward, I totally forgot to do so several weeks ago and ended up being over an hour early for work. Thank god it was backwards and not forwards or I would have been LATE for work.

Have a great weekend, my friend!

    X to you and Charlie

    1. Loved all your comments, Ron, especially the one about the clock change. And, yes, it is strange that cats change their sleeping spots but I didn't realise it was a common thing. Re clocks, it took me a while this year to work out which way they had to go. That's the trouble with the ageing process!

  6. Pampas leaves are wicked! And the plume part gets stuck in your clothes. We trim ours back in the spring as they look pretty with snow on them and it gives the birds some shelter.

  7. I am envious, kden, my pampas flowers in autumn. It doesn't let the cold ruin it nor does it stop the growth. I guess I should cut the leaves in spring.

  8. I laughed at these! I don't think cats have much of a sense of taste, so perhaps the curry passes him by ! I am told Pampas grass can be very persistent, so can other sorts of ornamental grasses. But I must confess I am so ignorant about it that I didn't even realise it flowered - are the flowers those white feathery bits?
My window cleaner is not as good as yours at predicting the weather, I am afraid!

    1. I wrote 'flower' because I couldn't think what else they were called. Feathers sounds much better.
