MORE TITBITS...

1. Gardener shifted the pampas before turning his attention to the front lawn then moving on to work on the back garden, tree and bush pruning and the like.

2. What a nice few days we had, and now we’re back to freezing temps and permanent wind and rain.

3. Is forgetfulness a feature of growing old?

4. Had new radiator fitted, hope it lasts longer than one installed two years ago. Booked same guy to clean gas fire later in year.

5. Two deliveries of food – one I usually have and another on trial.

6. Jigsaw completed. Pity one piece was split in two, too tiny to repair. In readiness for passing on, I wrote a note of explanation, popped it and the two pieces in an envelope. At least the jigsaw can still be done. Pity the back problem is put down to the leaning across jigsaw table.

7. How old to you have to be to have memory failure?

8. Recent suffering with back pain made me wonder why, and then I realised that it was worse when I worked on a jigsaw puzzle.

9. My odd job boy came to sweep the yard and garden paths. Pity it rained!

10. Blogs with black or red backgrounds are difficult for me to read. Guess my eyesight needs fixing.

  1. My son has been working on puzzles for a few months. The newest one has about 5000 pieces! He's complained of some aches while doing it. We used to enjoy them, but now with all my art/craft things throughout the house it's hard to find a big enough space.
Forgetfulness and memory failure... hmm, what was I going to say about that?? ha Well, I'm in my 50's and it's already been happening for a while.... *sigh*

    1. 5000? Crikey that's a lot. I go in to 500 but did try some 1000s. 5000 would get my back aching and that's for sure. Lol, Mary, I know EXACTLY how you feel when forgetfulnes stakes over.

    1. Good idea, you do the stretching and I'll concentrate on the placing !!!

  3. I almost envy your freezing weather. It's sweltering hot and humid here in rural Tennessee. Forgetfulness happens to all of us - no matter what our age. My mind often gets so jumbled that I can hardly remember my own name.

My back very often bothers me when I sit at the computer - - and I used to get excruciating back and neck pain when I was a pianist and practiced long hours (and I was young then).

    1. Since posting this the weather has changed - again. Dull but less cold. The sun appeared for an hour then disappeared. Waiting.....

Your back problem must have been awful while you were playing the piano. I've had to put the jigsaw away and probably won't get it out again... damn!

  4. Valerie, I can't believe you're having freezing temps there. Here, it's been extremely hot and extremely humid. UGH! If you can, please send some of that freeze my way. HA!

LOVE jigsaw puzzles! Haven't done one in years though. My grandmother had them all over her house, so whenever I was there, I would sit down and a card table and put them together.

I've been noticing the memory failure as well, and I'm 63. I have great long term memory, but the short term is horrible.

"Blogs with black or red backgrounds are difficult for me to read." OMG yes! And I can't believe that some bloggers still use those background colors.

Hope you're having a fab day, my friend!

    1. Hey Ron, short term is my problem. Isn't it awful? It makes me feel older than I really am! I feel so stupid sometimes when words disappear from my brain.

  5. Yes leaning over a jigsaw does my back in.

Your last radiator only lasted 2 years! I thought they worked for years and years?

    1. Other radiators that were fitted at the same time are okay, but one developed a hole through which the water made a great river in my bedroom. It was only a tiny hole as well!

  6. Good to read about your garden progress. I have an old back injury and find Buplex are very good for it. A mizzle morning here. The plants seem grateful for the soft rain and I won't need to water the garden just the polytunnel.

  8. Was good to catch up with latest developments. My memory seems mostly okay but Lea reckons it's somewhat selective. Eye-sight definitely not that great!

    2. We are contemplating doing a major re-do of our front yard...all by ourselves. It will take a lot of planning first and I wish I was 10 years younger.

  9. Thanks for sharing the latest and greatest, Val. I have noticed my memory isn't that great the last few years so I am not sure what is going to happen in another decade or so. Hope the weather warms back up. Take care.

    1. I guess it happens to all of us, Matt, but that doesn't make it easier to bear. I don't know if it's your influence but the sun just came out to play. Whoopee!

  10. Hi kden. I don't know what happened to your reply to mine, it was in situ when I woke this morning. Don't overdo the upheaval that faces you.
