Okay, so I’m on my own! My only concern is if the grocer
stops delivering food. Charlie the cat and I are okay. We’re on our own.
Neighbours don’t bother checking to see if I’m still alive and I don’t bother
letting them know that I am. Well, I could hardly notify them if I had passed
on, lol.
The situation in our world is worrying but I am definitely
not going to worry unduly. ‘What will be, will be’. It is no use me worrying
myself silly, I might just as well sit back and relax. I keep abreast of things
by watching television, but not too often – it’s too depressing.
Actually, I feel good. The sun is shining and walks around
the garden are something to look forward to, and treasure. The birds sound happy,
even those who like to fight. I still put bird food out for them and enjoy
watching them scramble to the bird table in search of their favourite seeds. It
is all very uplifting. Would that mankind could be as happy as the birds.
Well, I wish you all well. No matter what transpires in the
coming days. let’s all try to stay happy. Let’s think and pray for those less
fortunate than ourselves. God bless us all and keep us safe.
Valerie, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this post!!!! And it's so true....being happy does not mean everything is perfect!
ReplyDeleteYou and I have the same exact outlook about all this. It's a serious matter, however, worrying unduly does nothing to improve it.
"Actually, I feel good. The sun is shining and walks around the garden are something to look forward to, and treasure. "
Me too! And I know to some people that might sound strange, but I feel really good and positive. I also feel so grateful.
Thanks so much for sharing your positive vibes, dear friend. We all need that.
Stay happy and well!
X to you and Charlie
We think alike, always have, always will. You too stay happy and well.
DeleteJust stay safe until this passes. Don't be too proud to ask neighbors for help of you need it.
ReplyDeleteI will certainly ask the neighbours if it's necessary. Pride must take a topple now and again.
DeleteValerie, the best thing we can do is to expunge negativity from our thoughts. Worry and panic will get us nowhere. And it's probably a good idea to limit watching the news - which is far too depressing.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that you're enjoying some sunshine. Here in the wilds of Tennessee it's pouring rain (as usual). Take care and keep a positive attitude. Big hugs to you and Charlie.
You are so right, Jon. So sorry you have rain, if only I could send some sunshine over to you. I mean, there's plenty to go round.
DeleteYou have a wonderful attitude Valerie, and I enjoyed reading your uplifting words. I like to keep up to date on the news but the same information is repeated all the time. I know people tune in at different times but I turn off when I have what I wanted, and switch it back on several hours later. It's like Peyton Place, not much changes ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Denise. I keep the radio on low so that I don't miss anything important. I would hate to miss good stuff, when there is some.
DeleteMe too, the radio on low is a very good idea. Thank you for visiting and leaving your comments. Always very much appreciated.
DeleteYou have a great attitude! I like how you get out in your garden as you can to exercise a bit!
ReplyDeleteBetty
Thanks, Betty, and nice to meet you.
DeleteI am thankful to hear your positivity, Val. Please be safe and take of yourself.
ReplyDeleteWill do, my friend. Just make sure you and the family are safe.
DeleteI am thankful to hear your positivity, Val. Stay safe and tell Charlie he better keep taking care of you.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're safe and feeling well. A few minutes in the garden does wonders. It's the only thing keeping me sane right now. Keep checking in!
ReplyDeleteThanks kden, I hope thinks are running smoothly where you are, especially with the dogs.
DeleteI watch the news to see how many people in my city have succumbed to the virus and hope they recover quickly, then I 'tune out' and do other stuff until the weather forecast is on. I haven't checked on any of my neighbours, I hear them talking, watching TV and see one or two out walking, so I know they're mostly okay.
ReplyDeleteIt's when we don't hear or see people that the worries set in. So far, where I live, all is calm. Sometimes, though, I would like to see a friendly face more often.
DeleteWalking round the garden and looking at nature newly emerging is the perfect tonic Valerie.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely right, as my father used to say ... 'keep walking'
DeleteAbout the same here too Val . Keep calm. Hope for the best. Turn off the TV when our idiot leader begins talking and walk Lily around the garden.
ReplyDeleteI try to keep calm, but I don't know how I feel when I'm hungry. Cannot get any shops to deliver groceries!
DeleteAbout the same here too Val . Keep calm. Hope for the best. Turn off the TV when our idiot leader begins talking and walk Lily around the garden.
ReplyDeleteEveryone could learn a thing or two from Charlie.. and all of our cats. Sleep like the dead, Play hard, eat good food, cuddle the ones you love. Cats have figured things out! No wonder we keep them around...
ReplyDeleteRight now I'm wondering how and when I can buy cat food. The world has definitely gone mad.
DeleteI enjoyed reading this post, Valerie. Like you we have been going outside for walks and while the sun has been shining the temps have been chilly again, especially when the wind gusts. We don't have a garden or yard to wander in, but then we also don't have one to work in. Glad that you are Charlie are doing well and getting the food deliveries. Lots of folks are doing that here as well, but we are cooking at home and shopping for a few items as needed. We have fish and chicken in the freezer and pasta and beans and peanut butter, not to mention TP (whoops wasn't supposed to mention that!) The management office, gym, pool and function room are all closed at the mill apts as well; residents can call in for needed services. I have been making lots of phone, email text visits as well as reading what other bloggers are doing. The local library is closed, but I can download books to my Kindle and have completed a couple this week. We're also trying a free 7-day Britbox trial to decide if we want to subscribe. I absolutely do not listen to or watch the news after reading the morning updates on line from various news sources. Grenville keeps up more during the day and keeps me informed at dinner. Continue with your positive outlook, my friend, stay happy and safe and Charlie too.
ReplyDeleteA lovely reply, my friend, and I am glad to read that you are doing okay. But time has moved on since you wrote so I imagine you are meeting a few changes, as am I. It is not a happy time but let's all soldier on in as cheerful a manner as we can summon up.
DeleteValerie, You know that I have not been in the loop for a while but you have been on my mind so I just wanted to pop in and say Hi. Things are about the same here and all I can say is cut back on the news casts and do something more relaxing like reading or watching anything else on the TV besides news...
ReplyDeleteOh Jimmy, how lovely to hear from you and I thank you for thinking about this old blogger. Times are difficult for us all right now, but nothing can remove longstanding friendships. Take good care, my friend.
DeleteHope all is still well, Val. Take care.
ReplyDeleteAs well as can be expected under the circumstances. These unhappy times do not stop us from thinking of and possibly blogging with long established friends.
DeleteGood to hear. I will do my best to keep up with the blogging over the next month.
