1. Next door
neighbours have started to look after me and Charlie the Cat approves of the
cuddles he gets. Yes, good neighbours have I. Carol and Janice are particularly
helpful. Carol has also taken over any problems I have. I was never good at
sums and the older I get the more setbacks I have.
2. Too much
screaming on TV! A few UK programmes
have loud screams for half an hour non-stop, and they wonder why folk stop watching.
3. Did you
know that cats are show-offs?
4. "Everyone knows that the world is
full of stupid people." This was on a leaflet pushed through my letterbox.
5. Bushes
that have been in front garden over 30 years or more have finally produced
white flowers. Hooray, I live long enough to witness a miracle.
6. It comes
to something when I apologise to the cat.
7. Finally
ran out of paperclips but Amazon soon came to the rescue. I now have paperclips
a’plenty in a plastic jar with magnetic lid. All being well I should never lose
another paperclip.
8. Chip and
Pin. Does anyone know what that means?
9. My little
carry-me-anywhere iPhone finally died. I replaced it with an up to date but not
easy to use phone. I can’t even switch it on, but girls next door can do it!
10. Meals on
wheels just delivered. Methinks that calls for an early
lunch.
TV over here they whisper all the time. I might prefer the yelling. Takes me a few weeks to adjust when I get a new phone.
ReplyDeleteWe could do a swap, joeh....lol.
ReplyDeleteYes, Valerie, Chip and Pin means the option of using your debit card and pin number, rather than use it as a credit card. Which is something I always do because it's more secure. The only problem is that you can't use it online to make purchases (chip and pin), you have to use it as a credit card.
ReplyDeleteFunny you mentioned paper clips because I LOVED paper clips and use them a lot. However, I'm out of them. Thanks for reminding me!
Hope you're enjoying a delicious meals on wheels lunch!
X to you and Charlie
I never knew that, thanks Ron.
DeleteAmazon do a good line in paper clips, with a lovely container thrown in. The lid is magnetised which helps if you knock over the container.
The white flowering bushes sound intriguing Valerie. What could they be?
ReplyDeleteNo idea what they are called. They are huge bushes, so big it is impossible to cut any flowers and too high to photograph..
DeleteYeah for those nice next door neighbors, Carol and Janice. I'm sure they will have you being able to turn on that new phone. I think chip and pin could refer to a credit card, which has a chip embedded and you need a PIN (personal identification number) to use it. great that you got to see that bush in bloom! I don't watch TV so can't comment on the screaming, but sure it does exist, Valerie.
ReplyDeleteI can turn it on, and I can use the phone, which is really all that I want. I didn't know that about the credit card, thanks for the lesson.
Delete1. I agree, it is so comforting to have good neighbors, and yours sound lovely.
ReplyDelete2. I never liked yelling and screaming on TV, and the older I get I head to the Hallmark channel :)
3. Show offy cats? I didn’t know that but they do strut around a lot. Hasten to add I love cats even though I don’t have one now, so no disrespect to Charlie :)
4. Not something I agree with and in what context was the message. Just curious :)
5. Hurray for your flowering bush. Now that’s a gift after not doing so for that long.
6. I used to apologize to my cat and my dog. “Sorry sweetie, I have to leave for a couple of hours. Now don’t look at me like that. I will be back soon.” :)
7. A clever thing those magnetic lids. Glad you now have a steady supply of paper clips.
8. Chip and Pin? I had to look that up. It says, Chip and PIN refers to the technology used in debit and credit cards in order to process payments or to withdraw cash from from cashpoints. Is that what you were thinking of?
9.. Those new phones take a while to figure out.
10. It does indeed. I hope you have friendly meals on wheels people. They usually are.
Nice to have neighbors looking after you! Having paper clips is a great thing too!
ReplyDeleteBetty
DeleteAgreed, Betty.
I'm glad you have neighbours helping you now. Get them to write step-by-step instructions for your new phone. I have no idea what Chip and Pin means.
ReplyDeleteMy cat isn't a cuddler but she does enjoy a cheek rub now and again and a scratch around the neck area.
I know to use the phone, I have been a mobile phone owner for many years but that was before Google etc.
DeleteTHANK YOU ALL FOR JOINING IN, I AM ALWAYS AMAZED AT THE ATTRACTION THIS GETS. IT STARTED AS A BIT OF FUN, HOPEFULLY IT WILL CONTINUE THAT WAY.
ReplyDeleteIt is fun Valerie, I enjoy it very much.
DeleteWhat did we do before Amazon?
ReplyDeleteSigh.
I depend on them more and more....especially around the holidays.
Sending you hugs and much love,
Jackie
