Anything to escape the British weather, our neighbours decided to go on holiday to Cyprus. My Guy always looks after their house while they're away, collecting the mail and generally keeping an eye on things. Naturally the neighbours are grateful and to show it they always bring back a gift from their holiday resort. This time it was a bottle of Cyprus wine and a box of Pistachio nuts. It was an attractive box which remained unopened for a few days while we deliberated whether we wanted to eat nuts. Eventually we did open it and were extremely surprised to find......
MARSHMALLOWS!
Delicious!
I laughed so much the tears rolled down my cheeks.
After all that debating there wasn't a nut in sight, not even a hard centre!
Well it did say on the box that the contents
MAY CONTAIN A TRACE OF NUTS.
Ours were traced out of existence.
Hubs went next
door to complain to give them a laugh as well. It sure created a lot of mirth.
To finish the tale, here's a picture of the only trace of nuts we could find after eating all the marshmallow.
Just a minute piece broken off a full nut - we didn't even get the rest...lol.
oOo
Talking of tears.... with a sky like this is it any wonder I feel like crying?
or is this what they call blanket cover?

Ooops I think you should take them back to Cyprus and complain. ;)
ReplyDeleteThose are some unique looking marshmallows! That container sure is full of surprises :) I can imagine your reaction when you opened it! About the sky... it is somewhat nostalgic and I do understand if you happen to shed tears just by looking at it.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend, Valerie!
Hi Ron, it's hard to say if there was a pistachio taste because of the sugar content of the marshmallows. It was nice though.
ReplyDeleteHey Pearl, that is a brilliant idea :O)
Hi Lea, heehee the pistachios were unique too... I think they were in fancy dress :O)
Nice surprise eh! and no unplanned trips to the dentist either!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice surprise... but I do love
ReplyDeletepistachios and would have opened that first.... and that bottle of wine would be to savor.... I love Cypriot wine and even their beer..
Ha...yes, it did say "may". . . Life is full of surprises.
ReplyDeleteWow! Talk about false advertising! That must have been a shock! At least the substitute tasted good! And was good for a laugh! (AND blog post! Ha ha!)
