Valerie, you and I have the same taste in music. I LOVE this song! I've heard several renditions of it over the years, but NO ONE sings it like Peggy Lee!
I hadn't seen this clip before. Peggy Lee is from that era when music was huge. I'm not so sure it is now. It's all about social media and self focus, or so it would appear. This is just lovely....how she stood still in that red dress is beyond me. Heck, I was wiggling around n blue jeans. LOL
If you're new to A Mixed Bag you might find something to interest you, a bit of mirth, a story or two, or some pictures. I'm so pleased you popped in, do leave a comment if you have time.
putting a little swing in my step this morning....ha...what an interesting opening....
ReplyDeleteThis has always been my favorite Peggie Lee song. When I was a kid...I didn't care for her not rock and roll, but she grew on me as I grew up.
ReplyDeleteThe great Peggy Lee! Thanks Valerie, I enjoyed this video :)
ReplyDeleteI'd forgotten all about that song! Thanks for sharing. :)
ReplyDeleteLove, love this track. But, I'll tell you what: dig up a recording by Cuban singer La Lupe of this same song. You'll be surprised. :-)
ReplyDeleteGreetings from London.

X to you and Joe
Brian, glad you liked it - I agree about the opening. I hadn't seen this clip before...my memory was on the old records...smiles.
ReplyDeleteBC, she grew on me as well.
Cuban, I have listened and was surprised. It was certainly different to the Peggy Lee version.
ReplyDeleteRon, I have to agree with you. Peggy was great. She was 81 when she died .. I wonder how long she kept singing.
