The above is driving me crackers.
Is it absolutely imperative that I see this on every blog I visit? It wouldn't be so bad if it didn't block some of the headings. Once upon a time I used to block all cookies but gave up in the end. Now - and this is interesting - wherever I go I see adverts for everything I have bought on line, just because I have the cookies. I would like to say to the companies I bought from... just because I bought once DOESN'T mean I want to do it again. Pity they won't get to read my objection.
Yes pity indeed. Its some European law that makes them display the cookie notices. Greetings!
ReplyDeleteBlogoratti, I didn't know that. I wonder how long it's going on for?
ReplyDeleteI get all the ads for Guitars, because I have een shoppingt ffor one. I like them, but I just bought a Total Gym and keep getting ads for them...why would I need two?
ReplyDelete"wherever I go I see adverts for everything I have bought on line, just because I have the cookies."
ReplyDeleteYes, I've experienced the same thing, Valerie. And I have also seen ads for items that I've simply Googled.
Lately, I've had pop-ups on certain websites that ask if they have my permission to use my location data. And I always opt not too. However, I'm sure they have ways of finding out my location anyway.
It's getting to the point where Google knows everything about us through the way we use the Internet.
Have a fab weekend, dear lady!
X to you and Joe
That must be why I've never seen the notice here in the States. I see the most cookie action when I have visited Amazon; very soon I get an email showing the same thing I looked at or a similar product I have bought. And yes, irritating.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty oblivious to all this technology related stuff. Maybe I should become a later day Luddite....
ReplyDeleteI agree whole heartedly Valerie. They have their eye on us !
ReplyDeleteAt first, I thought "How did they know I might vote for Ben Carson?" or "...weight loss..."
ReplyDeleteThen I figured out that I am followed everywhere by everyone who ever sold me something, who saw my political leanings, etc.
Maybe I should mess with them? Like ask about making pickled beets, or cost of a 42DD bra?
I don't know if it's possible for you Val since you don't live in the States but we use an ad blocker app to avoid seeing all that crap. It's kinda scary though how those ads stalk you all over the Internet.
ReplyDeleteGood morning, Ron.
ReplyDelete'I have also seen ads for items that I've simply Googled'
OMG not that as well!? I do a lot of Googling so I hope I don't start getting/seeing those as well. Yes, I have had the request for location info.... I'd forgotten that. I always click it off, perhaps I should keep saying No.

ReplyDeleteKden - so far so good as far as emails are concerned. Perhaps because we're UK, I wonder?
