1. When nothing happens there is nothing to talk about?
2. Charlie the cat woke me this morning, licked my cheek and
meowed. It wasn’t until I got up that I knew why. He wanted to show off his
latest capture. A frog. Fortunately for me it was dead, otherwise I would have
been leaping about trying to catch it.
3. Silence is golden but thank goodness for radios, phones,
and TVs.
4. Local shop runs out of tissue. Thank goodness I use linen
handkerchiefs.
5. Son rings regularly now. He and his partner take it in
turns. I like it when the girl friend rings because our conversations are good.
6. Am trying to write a new story but I’m not in the right
mood.
7. Postman left a tiny parcel…. inside was a mask. Nobody can call me two-faced!!
8. Whoever said silence is golden should come and live here.
9. When nothing happens there’s nothing to talk about!
10. Nothing has happened! At this rate I shall lose the art
of conversation.

ReplyDeleteYes, activity is needed for lengthy conversation. Keep trying, but don't rely on the weather to help you.

ReplyDeleteIt is a quiet Sunday here, although the window cleaner decided it was a good day to clean windows.

DeleteI like when my son's check in, when my daughter calls she stays on for an hour, I hear everything she and family have done, what she has made for dinner etc...sometimes silence is not so bad.
ReplyDeletesilence is fine in small quantities.
DeleteI'm glad your son is ringing you regularly.
ReplyDeleteI've been cleaning out this old pond in the back garden and kept finding this frog jumping out at me. He was covered in brown sludge. Then I kept being attacked by a bee. Not fun.
I think we are short on exciting things to write about. You did well!
So am I, Joe. Distance is not always a good thing.
DeleteToo much silence can often tarnish the gold - although silence does allow me to think more clearly...
ReplyDeleteMy cats have never caught frogs. Bosco has been catching mice quite often, but for some reason he never kills them - he always lets them go.
I'm glad you're still getting calls from your son and his partner.
Big hugs to you and Charlie.
Charlie never kills mice, but I think he maims some in the catching process.
DeleteYes, silence is eerily golden right now, Valerie. But even more odd is that several previous comments read that they have been deleted by a blog administrator (you?) and yet your replies show up. Very strange indeed and I have no idea as to what's going on or why that has happened to your blog comments.
