The Lake House (review)

The Lake House is a romantic drama starring Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock. The blurb on the DVD cover is ‘A heart-lifting love story that reaches across time’ and that is exactly what it is.

When Dr Kate Forster moves out of a stunning glass lake house on the outer edges of Chicago she leaves a note for the next tenant, Alex Wylker, giving details about the house.

They correspond and fall in love. But there is a time difference; they are actually two years apart. Is it possible for them ever to meet?

Paranormal and quite emotional. If you like love stories, you’ll love this.
This story is captivating, well acted, and totally absorbing. I felt emotional just watching the trailer!

  8. Oh Valerie, that sounds so lovely and sad too. If you liked that and Somewhere in Time, you will also like Ladyhawke. Do try that one too. I will definitely be getting The Lake House to watch.
This theme hits home because I live this sort of life with my husband, who is 4,500 miles away and 5 hours behind! When he gets up I am half way through my day and when I go to bed, he has to spend the evening alone. The only time we are together is when we see the moon. It's the same moon for both of us and we can see it at the same time. However, it is that I am the moon and he is the sun and we live on opposite sides of the world. We only get together every so many months and then for not too long.
I find it especially hard to watch these films.
    Where are my tissues.
