Garden visitors

We have rather a large garden with bird feeders at the far end, in the line of sight. However, if we make a move our feathered friends see us and scarper so it's difficult to get good shots of them. In the first picture you can see how far away the feeders are... to get that picture my camera was on full zoom. Of course you can't see what I was trying to capture, but the second photo reveals all. I enlarged the same picture, using the camera's own facility, so that we could see who has been pinching all the birdseed. Because of all the messing about the picture is poor quality but you can make out the perpetrator of the crime.

Allow me to introduce

the Fieldmouse.
Oh for a playful tug on that tail!
Still it makes a change from seeing the squirrel.

  1. As soon as Leo discovered mice were a lot of fun to play with there's been few mice around here. Once in a blue moon I'll see him swatting one back and forth - letting it go for a bit and then chasing it down. I'm not sure if kills them or just runs them off.

HA! Valerie, when I began reading this post, I thought that's what you were going to show us...a squirrel!

    CUTE mouse!

Have a lovely Sunday, dear lady!

    X to you and Joe!

  5. David, I remember my cat loved to 'play' with mice, she didn't realise that swinging them back and forth could kill them. Frogs, too.

Brian, of course they do. Why didn't I think of that... grins.

Mona, they have too much garden to worry about entering the house... smiles.

Ron, I'm used to seeing the squirrels but not the mice. Mind you the field mice are cute little things so maybe we'll see this one again.

  7. Ha! I've had the same happen to me. We also put food out for the birds in our back garden, especially in winter. They are quite appreciative but I can never take a good photo of them or even film them. I've noticed that wood pigeons usually push the smaller birds out of the way to have the food themselves. That's when I step out to scare them all. The little birds come back almost immediately! :-)

    Greetings from London.

  10. Ah cute! As long as it stays outside and does not come inside the house.

  11. Hi Carol. How are you? Joe is doing okay, as well as can be expected under the circumstances. Thanks for asking. As for WI, that too is going as well as can be expected... it's early days yet ... only the second committee meeting today. I'm optimistic ... I think!
